A planetary ball mill includes a disc and a vial rotating on top of a disc in a planetlike motion (Fig. 1 a). The number of vials or grinding bowls may vary depending on the type of mill but it consists of at least one vial. Since the disc and vial rotate in an opposite direction, the centrifugal forces are also acting in the opposite direction.
